South Gate Optometry has a rich history of giving back to the communities where we live and work. Aligning with our company mission, South Gate Optometry thoroughly enjoys being a part of all communities and surrounding areas and giving back through local events, sponsorships, and mentorships.
We proudly serve patients from all around LA County including South Gate, Downey, Bell Gardens, Lynwood, Commerce and many neighborhoods of South East Los Angeles and south central Los Angeles.
California Optometric Association (COA) House of Delegates, 2019
Dr. Corona was awarded Young Optometrist of the Year at the California Optometric Association House of Delegates.
Dr. Corona, past-president of the Rio Hondo Optometric Society, was also recognized for his society’s involvement in the community. Their society project helped provide glasses to children in schools and won them society project of the year.
STEM Prep (Math and Science College Prep)
Dr. Corona pays a visit to STEM Prep, a local high school in L.A. to educate students about a career in Optometry.
L.A. Food Bank December, 2018
Dr. Pennino, Dr. Corona, and team volunteered at the L.A. food bank during the holiday season. Through volunteers and community support, the Food Bank is able to distribute food to more than 300,000 people on a monthly basis!
